MARSHFIELD — The Photo ID requirement has been reinstated and voters will need to present photo identification in order to cast a ballot for the Nov. 4, 2014 General Election.
Confidential Electors are always exempt from Photo ID. Military and permanent overseas voters are not required to present a Photo ID when they vote by absentee ballot. Indefinitely confined voters and voters in special care facilities can provide a witness signature on their absentee ballot certificate envelope in substitute for showing a Photo ID.
Valid forms of identification must include the voter’s name, which conforms to the voter’s name on the poll list and a photograph that reasonably resembles the voter. The address on the document does not have to be current to be used as proof of identification.
The following photo IDs are acceptable for voting purposes, and can be unexpired or expired after the date of the most recent general election (currently, the Nov. 6, 2012 election):
