Vehicle fire leaves one deceased

MARSHFIELD--On Jan. 21, at approximately 1:52 in the morning, Wood County Dispatch Center received the report of a vehicle on fire with an individual inside of it on Heritage Drive near County Road A, in the Township of Cameron. The Wood County Sheriff’s Department, Marshfield Police Department, and Marshfield Fire Department responded to the scene. Life saving measures were attempted with the operator of the vehicle, Robin R. Skorie (64) of Bryant. These attempts were unsuccessful and Skorie was pronounced deceased at the scene. Initial on scene investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling east bound on Heritage Drive, crossed the center line, and crashed into a utility pole located in the ditch line. This incident remains under investigation by the Wood County Sheriff’s Department.
