In 1950 at the Central Illinois State Fair in Springfield, the three Heeg brothers swept the three 4-H Showmanship contests. Roger won in the 12 and younger, Ronald in the previous winners, and August in the oldest division. The photo was taken by the Marshfield News Herald and was also featured in the Milwaukee Journal and the Illinois Holstein News Magazine. Now 75 years later, the brothers – August 92; Ronald, 89; and Roger, 87 – recreated that original photo, after a lifetime of farming with Holstein dairy cattle. August lives in Unity.
