STEVENS POINT – For the first time in school history, the Marshfield Tigers girls track & field team won the Wisconsin Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Invitational, April 11, at Skyward Fieldhouse at UW-Stevens Point.
Marshfield finished in first place with a team score of 139. D.C. Everest was second, with a score of 118½. Stevens Point came in third, with a score of 117¼. Wausau West finished fourth, with 66, followed by Wausau East, with 53¾. Merrill was sixth, at 49. Wisconsin Rapids was seventh with 33.5.
Champions for Marshfield included Michaela Dick in the 400 meters, the 800-meter relay team of Ellie Jensen, Alyssa Foemmel, Emma Ridgway and Gracie Ridgway – which finished with the second-best time in school history (1:51.82), the 1,600-meter relay team of Ella Allar, Ashley Grancorvitz, Dani Minsaas and Michaela Dick, Emma Ridgway in the High Jump, Casey Dasler in the Pole Vault and Dani Minsaas in the Triple Jump. Marshfield’s 3,200-meter relay team (Calleigh Kanitz, Ava Raab, Raella Schueller, Carolina Sullenger) finished in second place. Aubri Brown was second in the Shot Put competition, with a distance of 36-11.50. Minsaas tied for third, with a distance of 33.
