SPENCER — In 1957 a group named The Diamonds released an instant hit called “Little Darlin’,” which became a tune synonymous with the sound of early rock ‘n’ roll. The song continues to sell worldwide and has sold approximately 20 million copies to date.
Although the faces have changed over the years, The Diamonds as a group have kept the spirit of their hits alive for new generations. The band will bring their musical revue “The Diamonds – A Salute to American Bandstand” to the LuCille Tack Center for the Arts stage on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 3 p.m.
In their revue the group pays tribute to many of the artists who made their mark during “American Bandstand’s” amazing television run of four decades. It is an unforgettable trip down memory lane, treating audiences to classic hits from the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s, such as “Silhouettes,” “Why Do Fools Fall in Love,” “Blue Moon,” “Surfer Girl,” “Chantilly Lace,” and “The Wanderer.”
Seats for “The Diamonds – A Salute to American Bandstand” are reserved ($25) and can be purchased online at lucilletackcenter.com, by calling the box office at 715-659-4499, or in person at 300 School St., in Spencer.
