At what age did you start playing your main sport?
I have been running since 6th grade
Who introduced you to the sport?
My older cousins, whom I have looked up to since I was little
Has this always been your favorite sport?
Track is my favorite sport. It always has been. I love running the 400. But the attitude and dedication I bring to track is the same I bring to all three sports.
How has balancing academics and athletics been different for you from your freshman year to your senior year?
My freshman year was hard to balance academics and athletics because of the classes and how hard they were to adjust to. Now, though, I’ve got the hang of things and have the ability to be more flexible, being a senior. Luckily, my fellow teammates and I have gone through this together.
What is your favorite part about this sport?
All of the supportive people, from my teammates and others. Everyone supports everyone in cross country and track.
What about it has caused you to stick with it for this long?
The culture and family aspect. This is a hard sport, but we do it together and embrace it. And my teammates become my best friends, so we have fun doing it.
What would you say is your biggest asset on the field/track?
My positive attitude that I bring every day. The “want to” gets better each day and the discipline that my twin sister and I have held each other accountable with.
What has been your most memorable experience in high school sports so far?
The feeling of my hard work paying off. Like every Sectional track meet. Also, the State track hotel experience is one that nobody can forget. Best times ever.
How does it feel as a senior, to look back throughout high school and see your growth (as a person and athlete)?
It makes me feel very happy and fulfilled. I wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t for the sports I am in. They have given me critical characteristics I use in everyday life.
Any memorable coaches or teammates you’d like to give a shout out to?
All of my coaches have been amazing. They all support me, not only in sports, but everything I do. I would like to shout out my twin sister, Gracie. Without her, I would not be where I am today. She has pushed me to be my best each and every day.
Any hobbies outside of sports?
Fishing, hunting, pickle ball with friends, showing pigs, swimming, hiking, hanging out with friends and family
Favorite song?
“Draw you out” by Noah Kahan
Future plans?
Still undecided on where I want to go, but I will be running track in college, and possibly cross country. I want to study exercise and sports science to hopefully major in Athletic Training.
