MARSHFIELD – The Spencer Rockets keep finding ways to win big games. After nearly blowing a 21-point halftime lead, the Rockets pulled away in the second half to beat Greenwood 60-47 on Feb. 11 at Spencer High School.

The Rockets grabbed a 40-19 halftime lead before the Indians made a big run in the second half to pull to within six points, with less than four minutes to go in the game. Greenwood then started missing shots and turning the ball over, while Spencer found its rhythm again and put the game away.

The Rockets were led by Austin Bacon with 18 points. Eric Ehlert added 14.

The Indians were led by Westen Schmitz with 15 points, while Cooper Bredlau added 10.

Spencer stayed in the win column on Feb. 13 with a 52-49 victory over Loyal. Bacon led the Rockets with 21 points. Brett Kasch added 14.

The wins improved Spencer to 10-1 in the Eastern Cloverbelt Conference.
