Road closure notice: West Fifth Street

Posted

Oak Avenue to Schmidt Avenue, Saturday, Oct. 31, 4:30-8 p.m.

By Tom Turchi

Marshfield City Engineer

MARSHFIELD — On Saturday afternoon from 4:30 until 8:00 p.m., West Fifth Street from Oak Avenue to Schmidt Avenue will be closed to traffic for trick-or-treaters. The following streets will be closed at Fifth Street: Hardacre Avenue, Wisconsin Avenue, Adams Avenue, Drake Avenue, and Columbus Avenue.

Due to the number of children who trick-or-treat in this area, we anticipate that the side streets noted will be difficult to park on, and alternate side parking on ditched streets will be enforced. On ditched streets during the month of October vehicles are required to park on the even side of the street (west and south sides).

Please note that no parking will be allowed on Fifth Street within the road closure limits. It is recommended that patrons of this area use the parking lots at Steve J. Miller Park or the lot located behind Our Lady of Peace church. See map below.

We encourage that all motorist take extreme care throughout the city as there will be many children out trick-or-treating.

If there are questions concerning this or other traffic control matters within the city, please contact the engineering division at 715-486-2034.

More road closure information can be found at the city’s website, ci.marshfield.wi.us.
