Point-Rapids-Marshfield beats Waupaca in overtime to advance in WIAA playoffs

Red Panthers play at Central Wisconsin Storm on Tuesday in sectionals semifinal

WAUPACA — Carolyn Storch scored 50 seconds into overtime to lift the Point-Rapids-Marshfield girls hockey team to a 3-2 victory over Waupaca in a WIAA regional final on Thursday night at the Waupaca Expo Center.

Kaylee Bruneau and Bryar Brooks added goals for the Red Panthers (7-15-2), who advance to a WIAA sectional semifinal Tuesday at No. 1 seed Central Wisconsin Storm (19-4-1).

Madi Hall had seven saves in goal for Point-Rapids-Marshfield. PRM outshot the Comets (11-14) 17-9 in a defensive battle.
