EAGLE RIVER — The Marshfield girls hockey team’s season came to an end with a 4-0 loss to Northland Pines in a WIAA regional final Friday night at the Eagle River Recreation Arena.
The Tigers had split a pair of games with Northland Pines during the Great Northern Conference season but could not muster a goal this time around against the Eagles.
Marshfield lost for the sixth time in its last eight games and finishes the season with a 7-14 record.
Northland Pines (16-8-1) moves on to a WIAA sectional semifinal against Northern Edge (Rhinelander-Antigo co-op) (19-4-2) on Tuesday. Northern Edge whipped Lakeland/Mercer 8-0 on Thursday in a regional final. The winner will take on Central Wisconsin Storm or Point-Rapids in a sectional final on Feb. 28 at D.C. Everest High School.
