MARSHFIELD – A new option for orthopaedic care is arriving in Marshfield, with the opening of Wisconsin River Orthopaedics’ newest clinic aimed at increasing access and offering a more personalized patient experience.
The clinic, located at 120 N. Central Ave. in Founders Square, will officially open with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 27 welcoming community members to tour the space and meet the team.
The decision to expand into Marshfield was driven by both familiarity and necessity.
“We have been serving the people of Marshfield for years at our Wisconsin Rapids location; however, we felt that it would be easier for us to travel to the patients of Marshfield vs. them traveling to see us in Rapids,” clinic representatives said.
At its core, the clinic was created out of “a strong desire and commitment to share our personalized orthopaedic expertise while offering a choice of care to those living in the greater Marshfield area.”
That emphasis on choice is especially important as the local healthcare landscape shifts.
The new facility aims to deliver “complete orthopaedic care in a unique personalized setting,” serving patients across the greater Marshfield area who are seeking specialized treatment closer to home.
Beyond immediate care, the clinic’s broader impact is centered on accessibility.
“It offers the persons in Marshfield a choice in their orthopaedic healthcare,” they said.
The project has been more than a year in the making, involving careful planning and coordination.
“Like any new venture, there were plenty of moving pieces everything from planning and logistics to building the right team,” representatives said. “There were moments that tested our flexibility, but having a strong support system and staying focused on our mission helped us push through those challenges.”
Despite those hurdles, the process has been deeply rewarding.
“The most rewarding part has really been the opportunity to bring accessible, high-quality care to the community,” they said. “Seeing this vision go from an idea to something that will directly impact people’s lives has been incredibly meaningful.”
Now, with the doors open, the focus shifts to patients and relationships.
“We are most excited about finally meeting our patients and building those relationships,” they said. “There’s a lot of energy and anticipation right now, and being able to turn that excitement into real care for people in the community is something our providers are really looking forward to.”
Looking ahead, the clinic hopes to grow alongside the community it serves.
“Our goal is to grow thoughtfully expanding our team, increasing access to care, and continuing to meet the needs of the community,” representatives said. “We want to build something sustainable that people can rely on for years to come.”
While future expansion is not yet set in stone, it remains a possibility.
“We’re always listening to our patients and evaluating what’s needed,” they added. “We absolutely hope to grow whether that’s expanding our space, adding providers or introducing new services as the community’s needs evolve.”
