New boutique to open in downtown Marshfield

Posted

MARSHFIELD – A new retail business, Serendipity, is preparing to open in downtown Marshfield.

The boutique will be located at 211 S. Central Ave., Suite A, inside The Vault.

Serendipity will offer a selection of carefull-curated handcrafted items and antiques sourced through partnerships with local makers and collectors.

Co-owner Angela Taves said the store aims to bring together a range of products in one location.

“Whether you’re searching for a piece of history or a local artisan’s work, we’ve gathered it all under one roof,” Taves said.

The store plans to rotate its inventory every three months, replacing products on a regular schedule.

“Our boutique also promises to have pleasant surprises with each purchase, which leads us to the reason for the name Serendipity,” Taves said, making it more of an experience.

According to Taves, the business will focus on featuring work from members of the Marshfield community throughout the year.

“We take pride in the talent our community has to offer and give our customers a one-of-a-kind experience that adds a touch of serendipity to their day,” Taves said.

She added that the owners hope the store will contribute to activity in the downtown area.

Serendipity is owned by Angela Taves, Barb Weber, Kris Leonhardt-Kobs and Peggy Sue Behselich.

A soft opening is scheduled for Jan. 27, with a larger opening event planned for March.

Initial hours of operation will be Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

More information is available at www.shopserendipitymfld.com.

“The website is just getting set up, but in the future, it will offer additional products that aren’t in the store and can be picked up locally,” Taves said.

Serendipity can also be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/serendipitymarshfield.com.
