MARSHFIELD – The North Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board (NCWWDB) closed the Marshfield Job Center on March 25.
NCWWDB said the closing is “due to the loss of funding from the City of Marshfield and the end of its lease inside the Second Street Community Center.”
“NCWWDB has appreciated this longtime partnership,” a release from NCWWDB stated.
“Beginning April 1, NCWWDB will partner with Mid-State Technical College at Mid-State on Central (MSOC) to provide area residents with an alternative option for hands-on assistance for employment and training needs.”
Mid-State Technical College Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management Dr. Mandy Lang expressed enthusiasm for the new partnership,“Mid-State Technical College is committed to providing accessible resources to support our students and the broader community.
The collaboration between Mid-State and NCWWDB strengthens our ability to serve individuals seeking employment and career advancement. Having another close connection at Mid-State on Central ensures that job seekers and employers in the Marshfield area have a convenient place to receive expert guidance and support.
“Individuals can continue to access job search assistance online with JobCenterofWisconsin.com (JCW), Wisconsin’s free online job search tool," the release added.
