MARSHFIELD — The Campus Community Players will present “The God Committee” on Nov. 5-7 at 7:30 p.m. and a Sunday matinee on Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. in the Helen Connor Laird Theater at UW-Marshfield/Wood County.
Medicine, money and morality clash when the heart transplant selection committee has only minutes to decide which of three patients will receive a heart that has suddenly come available. “The God Committee,” written by Mark St. Germain and directed by Damian Ernest, shows the inner workings of a transplant program and a decision — for both the candidates and the program — that is a matter of life and death.
Tickets are $12 and can be purchased online at msftickets.uwc.edu or by calling 715-389-6534. Box office hours are Thursdays and Fridays from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
This production is made possible through support of the Laird Fund for the Arts.
A special discussion exploring themes of “The God Committee” will take place on Oct. 28 at noon in Room 131 at UW-Marshfield/Wood County. Dr. Rodney Sorensen and Dr. John Melski of the Marshfield Clinic will lead a discussion of medical ethics and organ transplants. This discussion is free and open to the public.
