MARSHFIELD — Josh and Mandy Witt, of Marshfield, have purchased Power Pac, Inc.from Mike Trulen.

The Witts, who grew up in Marshfield, say they “look forward to continuing the legacy that was built by the Trulens over the last 55 years.”

“Mike and Cheri Trulen have built an extremely solid foundation that we look forward to building upon,” says Josh Witt. “We are grateful and humbled they have given us the opportunity to carry on the dream they’ve built.”

Power Pac Inc., a powersports and equipment dealership, was established in 1963 by Mike Trulen’s father, Sid Trulen, and sold mainly Scorpion snowmobiles. Trulen took over ownership of the dealership in 1976 and grew the business by adding brands such as John Deere, Polaris, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and STIHL.

“When I took over the business, our revenue was around $250,000 and we sold and serviced mainly snowmobiles,” says Mike Trulen. “My dream was to grow the business my father built. That dream continues with passing on the business to a couple Cheri and I feel has a vision for growth.”

Mike said that his vision for the company included being a source of support for the local community.

“We admired the support Power Pac has shown the community for several years,” says Mandy. “When looking for business opportunities in the area, this was a prerequisite for us. We want to continue to give back to the community where we grew up, went to school and helped shape who we are today. Having lived in other cities in our twenties, we truly believe that Marshfield is special.”

Trulen wants to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible for customers and employees. He will consult through the end of 2018.

Josh joined the Power Pac team as the company’s general manager in March to familiarize himself with the business and is no stranger to dealership management, having spent the last nine years in the ag dealership industry.

“Our customers and employees have always been the backbone of this business,” says Trulen. “I want to thank our customers and my team for the many years of business, relationships and fun. I owe this community everything.”

“We intend to keep the core values of Power Pac Inc. in place including our dedication to customer service,” says Josh. “This has been a family business since day one and we want to continue the legacy and hope to pass the business to our own children someday.”
