Marshfield's Castlerock earns national recognition as top animal hospital

Posted

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield’s Castlerock Veterinary Hospital has been named one of America’s Best Animal Hospitals for 2026.

“According to a  2023 Pew Research Center study, around 97% of Americans consider their pets to be a part of their family. For over half of all pet owners, this love goes even further, with 51% saying that their pets are as much a part of their family as a human,” stated Newsweek Editor-in-Chief Jennifer H. Cunningham.

This is the second year that Newsweek has partnered with Plant-A Insights on the listing, which highlights 1,262 hospitals for animals across the country.

“This ranking is built on a large-scale national survey that invited more than 30,000 respondents to participate and a sentiment analysis that included millions of online reviews. The online reviews were evaluated using a Large Language Model, including quality of care, customer service and pricing & affordability. Additional consideration was also given to animal hospitals accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association,” Cunningham added.

Castlerock is an American Animal Hospital Association-accredited veterinary hospital located at 1214 S. Oak Ave., Marshfield, which offers Pet Chiropractic Care, Urgent Care, Ultrasound, Intensive Care Unit, wellness exams, spay and neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, dental care, radiology, diagnostics, pet emergency and laser therapy.

In addition, the veterinary hospital has provided needed assistance to the Marshfield Area Pet Shelter (MAPS).

“The practice has five talented vets, a huge staff of caring professionals, offers much needed weekend urgent care services to our community and provides our shelter pets with whatever services we need at very discounted pricing. They are absolutely amazing to work with and they have gone above and beyond to help us and our pets. We are so grateful to have their support,” said MAPS Executive Director Karen Rau.
