MARSHFIELD — A Marshfield shipping store received top honors for international shipping at a recent national retail convention.
Wepak-n-Ship owners Dale and Diane Thompson attended the Retail Shipping Expo in Dallas from May 27 to June 1, where their store was named Top International Shipper for the entire PackageHub Business Center network.
The award was presented at a breakfast ceremony during the five-day convention, which brought together shipping industry leaders and logistics innovators from across the country.
"We are proud of this achievement," Diane Thompson said. "It came from a genuine desire to do a good job and serve our customers the best we can."
The Thompsons' Marshfield store at 206 E. Upham St. was recognized for its international shipping volume and customer service within the PackageHub network.
Dale Thompson said the expo focused on how the shipping industry is adapting to growing e-commerce demand and emerging technologies.
"Attending the Retail Shipping Expo was not just about learning; it was about preparing for what's coming," he said. "It's clear that as e-commerce continues to grow, so too must our ability to provide flexible, fast and customer-focused shipping solutions."
The convention addressed challenges facing independent shipping stores as they compete with large-scale logistics providers. Topics included operational efficiency and new delivery technologies.
PackageHub Business Centers, which operates more than 1,075 franchise locations nationwide, announced that franchise locations will receive the capability to turn Amazon QR codes into shipping labels.
