MARSHFIELD — Wisconsin Rapids scored three times in the first 35 minutes and blanked Marshfield 5-0 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference girls soccer game Tuesday at Griese Park on Marshfield’s Senior and Parents’ Night.

A Marshfield own goal in the third minute followed by goals from Aubrey Iwanski and Katie Kiisicila put the Raiders up 3-0 at halftime. Mia Iwanski and Kaitlyn Hess added goals in the second half to finish the scoring for Rapids (13-1-1, 8-1-1 Wisconsin Valley Conference).

Marshfield was outshot 8-1 with Andrea Carolfi saving four in goal for the Tigers (5-14-1, 1-7-1 Wisconsin Valley Conference).

“We need to play better to compete with the upper-echelon teams in the Wisconsin Valley,” Marshfield coach Steve Lindner said. “You cannot have an own goal and two PKs and expect to beat a good team.”

Marshfield will play at Merrill on Thursday.
