MARSHFIELD — Marshfield Area Pet Shelter (MAPS) again broke records at the sixth annual Paws & Pancakes breakfast fundraiser on Feb. 26 at Knights of Columbus Hall.
A total of 1,023 people partook in the breakfast, and for the sixth year in a row, this event broke the Knights of Columbus Hall attendance record, easily surpassing last year’s attendance of 953 people.
“Every year we hope our event is bigger and better than the previous year, and every year we are blown away by the large number of people who come out to support us,” said MAPS President Karen Rau. “It says a lot about people wanting to help animals and what a great community we live in.”
The breakfast raised $12,600 to help MAPS with the day-to-day operating costs for the animals at its adoption center and temporary shelter locations.
“The proceeds from this event will help us care for hundreds of innocent animals,” said Rau. “We are very thankful for our community’s generous support.”
