Marshfield City Engineer

MARSHFIELD — Phases 1 — Maple Avenue from Veterans Parkway to Fourth Street and Third Street from Maple Avenue to Central Avenue — and 2 — Fourth Street from Central Avenue to Maple Avenue — are complete.

Phase 3: Maple Avenue from Sixth Street to Fourth Street and Fifth Street from Central Avenue to Maple Avenue

All underground utility work has been completed. Earth Inc. is working on excavation and placement of base materials. This portion of the work should be completed by Wednesday of this week. Merkel Electric is placing pole bases for the new lighting system and should be complete with this work later this week.

The paving schedule is as follows: Trimming is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Oct. 7, paving of the westbound lane of Fifth Street and the northbound lane of Maple is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 9, trimming of the eastbound lane of Fifthth Street and the southbound lane of Maple Avenue will take place on Monday, Oct. 12, and paving of these lanes should occur Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Please note that nighttime temperatures are cooling down, and this timeline could be delayed if the concrete has not reached the proper strengths. The curb crew will begin its work on Thursday, Oct. 15, and this work will be followed up with sidewalk placement.

I would anticipate that this project should be wrapped up about the first week of November.
