John Denver tribute performer coming to LuCille Tack Center

Posted

SPENCER — John Denver’s music will return to audiences once more in “Rocky Mountain High - A John Denver Tribute” on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 7:30 p.m. at the LuCille Tack Center for the Arts.

According to the late Steve Weisberg, long-time Denver guitar accompanist, performer Ted Vigil closely resembles Denver both physically and musically and is carrying on the tradition honoring the music icon. With a polished and energetic performing style, Vigil once again brings the great compositions and hits of Denver to audiences across America.

Vigil does not consider himself an impersonator but rather someone doing his best to pay homage by singing a tribute to a man music lovers miss.

The legendary Denver evokes memories of an era in music which was both inspiring and influential. His music was a combination of romance (“Annie’s Song”), folk (“Leavin’ on a Jet Plane”), country (“Thank God I’m a Country Boy”), and environmentalism (“Calypso”).

Denver recorded nearly 300 songs, 200 of which he composed, which led to 12 gold and four platinum albums, and he also received an Emmy and two Grammys.

Seats for “Rocky Mountain High - A John Denver Tribute” are reserved for $25 and can be purchased online at lucilletackcenter.com, by calling the Box Office at 715-659-4499, or in person at 300 School St., Spencer, WI. The LuCille Tack Center for the Arts box office hours are Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
