MARSHFIELD – After years of preparation, the “History of Marshfield Exhibition” at the Heritage Museum will open to the public Nov. 13, 1-4 p.m.
The exhibition starts with a walk through a log cabin – a recreation of what served as the city’s first hotel.
An exhibit of the “Great Marshfield Fire” provides a glimpse into the total devastation caused by the 1887 fire.
Other displays include one on the St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, designed by the school’s former students and includes a kiosk with the names of all graduates.
The exhibition also features segments on agriculture, theater history, hobos, Roddis clothing, and much more.
The exhibition joins the “Lest We Forget" military exhibit, in the basement of the city’s former library building.
The museum is located in the lower level of the 2nd Street Community Center, 211 E. Second Street, Marshfield, and is open Wednesdays and Saturdays, 1:30-4 p.m.
