Help Hub City Times celebrate Marshfield’s history

Photo book gives readers a chance to submit their memories

MARSHFIELD — Hub City Times is asking for the community’s help on a project: to compile historic images of Marshfield in one special book. It will be a hardcover, quality coffee table book featuring Marshfield images from the late 1800s through 1939. The book will display photos from the archives of the North Wood County Historical society as well as our readers.

We are looking for photos that meet the following criteria:

—General interest photos in areas such as commerce, industry, transportation, rural life, public service.

—Photos taken in the 1800s up to 1939.

—Photos only and preferably original photos, no newspaper clippings or photocopies.

—Photos taken in the Marshfield area.

—One submission form per photo.

—Ten photos per family. If you are a private collector and have many photos, please call 360-723-5802 to set up an appointment.

There will be photograph scanning sessions held Saturday, May 14, from 1:30-4 p.m. at the North Wood County Historical Society (Upham Mansion); Monday, May 16, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Marshfield Public Library; and Thursday, May 19, from 12-2 p.m. at the North Wood County Historical Society. The Marshfield Public Library is located at 211 E. Second St. in Marshfield, and the North Wood County Historical Society is located at 212 W. Third St.
