Greenwood comes back to hand Columbus Catholic volleyball first conference loss

Dons win first two games but cannot hold off Indians

GREENWOOD — The Marshfield Columbus Catholic volleyball team won the first two games but could not hold on as Greenwood stormed back for a 3-2 win in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division match Thursday night at Greenwood High School.

The Indians won 25-27, 22-25, 26-24, 25-14, 15-8 to improve to 1-1 in the conference. The loss was the Dons’ first, and they fall to 2-1 in the Cloverbelt East.

Celine Scholin had 17 kills, Kendra Baierl added 15 kills, and Jennifer Reigel had 47 assists for Columbus Catholic. Sierra Litwaitis and Maddie DeSmet each had 17 digs to lead the Dons defensively.

Columbus Catholic will host Spencer on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
