Gary Paul Martin, age 75, of Marshfield WI, passed away peacefully with his immediate family by his side on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026, at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Eau Claire, WI. A celebration of life service will be held at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield, WI. on Saturday, November 11, 2026. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a private service to follow, for family and close friends. Gary’s wishes were to be cremated, therefore there will be no burial.
Gary was born February 18th, 1951, the son of Don and Elaine Martin, in Kenosha, WI. They later moved to Minocqua, WI, where Gary attended Lakeland High School and graduated in 1969. Gary attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI from 1969-1975, where he completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree at the School of Dentistry. Gary started his dental practice in Marshfield, WI in 1975 and practiced with the utmost care and integrity until 2018. Gary was an outstanding dentist, treating thousands of patients over his 43-year career. He was a member of numerous dental organizations, serving in a leadership capacity over the years, and was truly passionate about his profession.
In his spare time, Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing and all things nature. Gary cherished time with family and friends at his cabin on Fence Lake in Lac du Flambeau, WI. He especially enjoyed trips to Canada fishing for walleye, which he did numerous times with family and close friends. Those that knew Gary best will miss his gentle demeanor, his generosity, and the way all dogs gravitated towards him.
Gary is lovingly survived by his son Tony Martin (Jessica), grandchildren Adrianna and Bennett of Eau Claire, WI; his life partner, Janalee Rasmussen of Marshfield, WI, step-sons Jason Krasne (Katie) and granddaughter Kajsa of Sun Prairie, WI; and Jeremy Krasne (Stephanie) and grandchildren Casen and Charlotte of Denver, CO; his brother Tom Martin (Kay) of Birmingham, AL; and sister Cindy Davis of Custer, WI. He is further survived by countless extended family members and will truly be missed. Gary is preceded in death by his parents: Don and Elaine Martin and brother-in-law, Terry Davis.
