MARSHFIELD – The Friends of the Marshfield Public Library (FOMPL) is hosting its annual Give a Kid a Book campaign, to promote children’s literacy in the Marshfield community.
“FOMPL’s Give a Kid a Book program has been going strong for nearly 30 years and has given thousands of books to children. In 2024, FOMPL was able to distribute almost 1500 books to fifteen city day care centers and to several organizations that support children and families in the Marshfield community,” a FOMPL release stated.
In November and December, FOMPL will collect new or gently used children’s books — baby books, picture books, easy readers, and books for elementary, middle school and high school students are accepted.

“If you prefer, you may leave a monetary donation in the collection box, and FOMPL will shop for you. Every book donated to Give a Kid a Book gives a child in our community the opportunity to experience the fun, excitement, and adventure that reading brings,” the release added.
