Fire on sixth street causes damage, injuries

MARSHFIELD— Last night at approximately 7:53 p.m. Marshfield Fire and Rescue responded to a building fire located at the 400 block of west 6th street in Marshfield.

One occupant of the home was transported by Marshfield Fire and Rescue to St. Joseph’s Hospital and his condition is not known at this time.  A second victim refused transport and sought his own medical care.

The upstairs apartment of the building experienced extensive fire damage and smoke damage while the bottom apartment experienced water damage.

Marshfield Fire and Rescue had the fire under control within 18 minutes of arriving on the scene, and units where at the site for approximately three hours. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
