Feddick will not seek re-election

MARSHFIELD — District 2 Alderperson Alanna Feddick will not seek another term as a member of the Marshfield Common Council. Feddick was first elected in 2004.

In the 2017 spring election, all of the even numbered common council districts — two, four, six, eight, and 10 — will be on the ballot.

Candidates could start circulating nomination papers on Dec. 1, and for common council a minimum of 20 signatures must be obtained from citizens in their district in order to be placed on the spring ballot.

Incumbents wishing to bow out of the race must file a noncandidacy form with the city. Feddick completed her filing on Dec. 27.

Nick Poeschel has taken out forms for candidacy in District 2 but has not yet filed them.

Incumbents Tom Witzel, District 6; Rebecca Spiros, District 8; and Peter Hendler, District 10, have all filed papers for candidacy and are currently unchallenged.

In District 4, incumbent Gordon Earll will seek re-election, and he will be challenged by Ken Bargender. Earll has served on the council since 2009 and is the current council president.

Nomination papers for the spring election are due in the city clerk’s office by 5 p.m. on Jan. 3, 2017.

The spring primary is scheduled for Feb. 21, and the spring election will be held April 4, 2017.
