A fresh addition to the downtown district is on its way — “Annabelle’s Attic.”
The consignment store is opening its doors at 405 S. Central Ave., Marshfield, right next to Silent Crow Antiques.
Founder Rick Eckart said that Annabelle’s Attic was inspired by a cherished family heirloom — an antique doll named “Annabelle.”
Annabelle was passed down through generations, starting with his great aunt.
She will sit in the front window of the new store, ready to greet every visitor.
The family- and friend-run consignment shop will feature a wide variety of items, including vintage furniture, antiques, games, media and collectibles.
However, it will not accept used clothing or baby items.
Eckart said that all inventory comes from his other business, Cowboy’s Estate Sales.
Items that don’t sell at the Estate Sales are given a second chance at Annabelle’s Attic.
Additionally, community members from the surrounding area can contribute items they no longer need.
For every item sold, a percentage of the sale is returned to the original owner.
Eckart said that he is committed to being an active part of the Marshfield community.
He plans to participate in local events such as the Main Street Marshfield Beer Walk and the Downtown Trick or Treat, reinforcing his motto: “Buy Local. Support Local. Promote Local.”
Annabelle’s Attic will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with plans to expand the hours in the future.
While the store doesn’t have a website yet, it will be on Facebook by opening day.
The store will host a soft opening on Oct. 21, giving the community an early look at what’s to come.
