MARSHFIELD — Faith Fire, praise band of Faith Lutheran Church, will present a benefit concert for the Marshfield Area Respite Care Center on Friday, April 17, at 7 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Marshfield. This is the third annual benefit concert that the band has hosted, bringing together music, community, and support for charitable organizations. The concert is free and open to everyone.
The Marshfield Area Respite Care Center, Inc. (MARCC) is an adult day care for people who have memory impairments. For the past 20 years, MARCC has provided a quality model of adult day care to enhance the lives of those with dementia and to provide time away for their care partners. MARCC has served over 675 families in the area since the doors opened in 1995.
It is a United Way organization and is located at the Wesley United Methodist Church. Day care services are provided during the day Monday through Friday. MARCC also hosts an Alzheimer’s support group on the last Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m., a Parkinson’s support group the third Thursday of the month at 1 p.m., and the Memory Café on the second Wednesday of the month at 10:30 a.m.
At the concert Faith Fire and the Voices of Praise choir will perform current Christian rock songs. At the end of the concert, the audience will be invited to share in a freewill offering.
In addition to the concert, MARCC will host a silent auction featuring many family friendly items along with a fellowship time with treats and refreshments. All proceeds from the silent auction and freewill offering will be used to provide scholarship funds for participants who would otherwise be unable to receive day care services. In 20 years of history, MARCC has never refused any participant because of financial needs thanks to scholarship funds.
