MARSHFIELD – Eau Claire Regis scored three unanswered touchdowns to down Spencer/Columbus 20-6 in a Cloverbelt Conference football game Saturday afternoon at Beell Stadium.
Regis overtook Spencer/Columbus for second place in the conference, improving to 5-1 overall and 4-1 in the Cloverbelt. S/C had its three-game winning streak snapped and is now 4-2 overall and in the Cloverbelt.
The Rockets led 6-0 after the first quarter and turned away two potential Regis scoring drives with fumble recoveries inside the 5-yard line.
However, Regis finally found the end zone midway through the second quarter and added two second-half TDs to pull away.
Game statistics were not provided to MarshfieldAreaSports.com.
Spencer/Columbus plays at Altoona (2-4, 2-3 Cloverbelt) next Friday.
