Cranmoor man dead after tree falls on him

CRAANMOOR— A man is dead following an accident in which he was cutting down a tree when it fell on him. The accident occurred this morning, and the Wood County Sheriff’s Department was notified of the accident at 11:38 a.m. today.

The accident caused major head trauma and the man was pronounced dead at the scene in the Township of Cranmoor, according to a release from the Wood County Sheriff’s Department. In addition to the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, Nekoosa Ambulance, Port Edwards Fire Department, Wood County Rescue, and Spirit of Marshfield provided assistance.
