Columbus Catholic volleyball falls short at Neillsville

NEILLSVILLE – Columbus Catholic nearly made a great comeback, but in the end fell short and lost a 3-2 decision on Tuesday at Neillsville High School.

Neillsville won the first two games 25-19, 25-23, before the Dons came back to win 25-11 and 25-19 to force a fifth game. Neillsville was able to regroup and win 15-9 to improve to 2-0 in the Cloverbelt Conference. Columbus Catholic is now 0-2.

Kendra Baierl had 16 kills and five blocks, Sierra Litwatis had 25 digs and setters Jennifer Reigel and Bailey Neider had 19 and 12 assists, respectively, for Columbus.

The Dons host Greenwood on Thursday.
