Columbus Catholic soccer rolls to 3-0 mark at CWC Crusader Kickoff

Dons do not allow shot on goal in two wins Saturday

WAUPUN — The Marshfield Columbus Catholic soccer team rolled to two shutout victories Saturday to finish 3-0 at the two-day Crusader Kickoff at Central Wisconsin Christian High School.

The Dons defeated Kenosha Christian Life 8-0 and Green Bay NEW Lutheran 4-0 to improve to 3-0 this season.

Columbus outshot Kenosha Christian Life 25-0 in the opener, dominating play. Nadim Torbey had five goals, Nick Malovrh added a pair of goals, and Alexandra Hutchison scored once for the Dons. Charles Payant had five assists, and Calvin Brown, Hutchison and Matthias Gouin each added one in the win.

In Game 2, the Dons outshot NEW Lutheran 21-0, making it an easy day for goalkeepers Bailey Keffer and Kellen Heinzen.

Brown, Noah Hansen, Tyler Fuerlinger, and Evan Dieringer each scored once for Columbus. Malovrh added an assist.

Columbus opens up Mid-State Soccer Conference play at 5 p.m. Monday against Wisconsin Valley Lutheran at Griese Park.
