MARSHFIELD — The 2015 WIAA boys soccer playoff brackets were announced on Sunday.
Play begins with a handful of regional quarterfinal games in Divisions 3 and 4 on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Regionals continue with semifinals on Thursday, Oct. 22, and finals on Saturday, Oct. 24.
Sectionals are set for Oct. 29 and Oct. 31, and then sectional champions move on to the 2015 WIAA State Boys Soccer Tournament at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee on Nov. 5-7.
Marshfield (9-6-3) is the No. 1 seed in the bottom half of the Division 2 Sectional 1 bracket and will host No. 8 Wausau East (6-12-1) in a regional semifinal at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22. The winner of that game plays the winner of No. 5 Menasha at No. 4 Rhinelander on Saturday, Oct. 24, in a regional final.
The Tigers, via the No. 1 seed, garner home field advantage through the sectional semifinals if they keep on winning. The sectional final is Oct. 31 at Wausau East.
In Division 4 Marshfield Columbus Catholic also earned a No. 1 seed in the bottom half of the Sectional 1 bracket.
The Dons (13-1-3) will host the winner of Nekoosa and Northland Lutheran in a regional semifinal on Oct. 22 at Griese Park at 4 p.m. Columbus also secured home field through the sectional semifinals. The sectional final is Oct. 31 at Cumberland.
