Columbus Catholic girls basketball pulls away in third quarter to down Rib Lake

MARSHFIELD — Abby Baierl scored nine points in a balanced scoring attack for the Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls basketball team as it cruised to a 38-20 victory over Rib Lake on Tuesday night in its 2014-15 season opener.

Columbus used a 14-4 run in the third quarter to open up a double-digit lead and pull away to the nonconference victory.

Jessica Trad and Meena Thill each added seven points for the Dons.

Columbus Catholic plays at Stratford on Thursday. The game is Stratford’s season opener.
