Columbus Catholic boys basketball stays unbeaten, routs Gilman

Fuerlinger scores 31 for Dons

GILMAN — On Friday night the Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team showed why it isranked No. 1 in this week’s WisSports.net Division 5 state boys poll as it crushed Gilman 80-37 at Gilman High School.

Columbus (18-0, 13-0 Cloverbelt East) rushed out to a 40-12 lead by halftime and cruised from there.

Tyler Fuerlinger had his fourth 30-point game in the past three weeks, scoring 31 to lead the Dons. Hunter Schultz added 21 points in the win.

Columbus hosts Greenwood on Tuesday and with a win would clinch at least a share of the Cloverbelt East title.
