Columbus Catholic baseball knocks off Neillsville

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic baseball team was able to finish off a 7-4 victory over Neillsville on Saturday at Jack Hackman Field.

The game was suspended due to rain on Tuesday and completed Saturday morning.

The Dons scored four runs in the second inning and three more in the third to pull away.

Billy Young and Evan Nikolai each had two hits for the Dons, who are now 5-7 overall and 5-6 in the Cloverbelt East.

Young earned the win, pitching four innings, and Charles Payant earned the save giving up three runs in three innings of relief.

Columbus plays at home against Greenwood on Tuesday.
