Cathleen (Hartl) Deming, age 63, entered into the loving arms of Jesus on October 21, 2026, passing peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side following a courageous battle with cancer.
Cathy was born in February 1963 to Michael and Delores (Mueller) Hartl of Stratford, WI. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1981 and enjoyed a long career at the Marshfield Clinic.
Cathy will be remembered for her strength, courage, and quiet determination throughout her life. Through the many challenges she faced, her faith remained a source of strength, comfort, and hope. Even while facing her own struggles, Cathy found ways to offer encouragement and kind words to others experiencing difficulties in their own lives. Her willingness to lift others up while carrying her own burdens spoke volumes about the depth of her faith and the strength of her spirit. Even through the heartaches of her cancer journey, she still always found something to be thankful for.
Cathy is survived by her mother, Delores Hartl; her siblings, Michael (Linda) Hartl, Pamela Eslinger and her partner James Sempf, Sandra (Brian) Kloos; and her loving companion Burnett (Buck) Paulsrud; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Michael Hartl.
The family would like to extend special thanks to her companion, Buck, and the St. Croix Hospice team for the loving care, compassion, and support they provided to Cathy throughout her final journey.
A private family memorial will be held at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home.
