Posted

WOOD COUNTY – The Wood County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a crash that left a 12-year-old and 15-year-old injured, with one taken to a hospital.

The crash happened just after 8 p.m. May 15 on Seneca Road near the Range Road intersection. Deputies say the two were traveling westbound on Seneca Road when the driver lost control of the ATV, which then landed on both people, trapping them.

Deputies did not say which person was driving, but one was taken by Aspirus MedEvac helicopter to an area hospital. Because the two are minors, their names will not be released.

The sheriff’s department was assisted by the Nekoosa Police Department, Wood County Rescue, Port Edwards First Responders, Port Edwards Fire Department, Aspirus MedEvac, United Ambulance, Wood County Dispatch and Nieman's Tow Service.
