WISCONSIN — The brackets for the 2015 WIAA boys basketball playoffs were released Sunday.
Regional quarterfinals in five divisions are set for Tuesday, March 3, with regional semifinals and finals on March 6-7.
Locally, Auburndale, Spencer, and Stratford are in the same Division 4 Sectional 2 regional.
Stratford (13-8) is the No. 5 seed in the regional and will play a regional quarterfinal at No. 4 Edgar (13-7) on March 3. The winner will play at No. 1 seed Marathon (21-0) in a regional semifinal on March 6.
Spencer (17-3) is the No. 3 seed in the regional and will host No. 6 Stevens Point Pacelli (10-11) in a regional quarterfinal on March 3. Pacelli boasts the second-leading scorer in the state, James Gollon, who is averaging 30 points per game this season. The winner plays No. 2 Auburndale (13-7) in a regional semifinal on March 6.
In Division 1, Marshfield (6-15) is the No. 7 seed in the top half of the Sectional 1 bracket and will play at No. 2 Chippewa Falls (13-7) in a regional semifinal on March 6.
Marshfield Columbus Catholic (13-7) is the No. 2 seed in the top half of the Division 5 Sectional 2 bracket. The Dons will host No. 7 Abbotsford (4-15) in a regional quarterfinal on March 3.
The sectionals will be March 12 and March 14 with survivors moving on to the 2015 WIAA State Boys Basketball Tournament at the Kohl Center in Madison on March 19-21. This year marks the 100th WIAA state boys basketball tournament.
