By Tom Turchi
Marshfield City Engineer
Sewer and water main has been completed within the limits of Phase 1. Storm sewer will be completed this week in Phase 1. This will complete the bulk of the underground work.
Frontier has abandoned two manholes on Third Street and has finished lowering their conduit package from Central Avenue to the alley yesterday. Earth Inc. is now installing the underdrain and is grading the sub base for the placement of base materials.
Additional conflicts have been identified on Second Street with Frontier’s telephone conduit. Work relocating this conduit will begin later this week.
Merkel, Inc. a subcontractor for Earth is installing conduit for the new street lighting system.
We Energies have completed all their work within Phase 1 of this project and have moved to the Phase 2 portion of the project.
It is anticipated that concrete paving will take approximately three weeks and is expected to begin about June 29. Trierweiler Construction is a subcontractor to Earth Inc. and will be the paving contractor for Maple Avenue. Paving of the main traffic lanes will take place with two placement operations with curb/gutter and sidewalk placement taking place following mainline paving.
