MARSHFIELD – Amber Kiggens-Leifheit slowly transitions out of her role as Marshfield Area Community Foundation director, as Stacey Schultz starts in her new position.
“My last day was June 14, but I am doing a little overlap to help orient Stacey Schultz to her new position,” said Kiggens-Leifheit, who was operating in a consultant role, as she introduced Schultz to individuals around the city and got her acclimated to the foundation.
“Of course, she will make it her own, along with the direction of the board,” added Leifheit.
Leifheit will now work 40 percent remotely to keep the finances up-to-date and rework the scholarship online platform to make improvements.
“Both things are important, but the board felt that they could be done by me, giving Stacey the freedom to learn about – right now we have 225 funds – so to learn what each and every one of those is and does, meet people and to get out in the community and introduce herself at first. Learning the finances can come, where I can introduce her to that later,” she explained.
Leifheit will stay on in this way until Sept. 30, when they will reevaluate the system. In the meantime, Amber will be leaving the Marshfield community to join her husband, who has taken a new position in Madison.
“We have a home outside of Portage that we have had for a long time – 15 years – a cottage. We are going to make that our home, and he is going to commute to Madison,” Leifheit explained.
“I really wanted to finish up everything I was working on. I wanted to finish out my school board term.”
Amber said that she hopes to find a position in her new community which will “combine philanthropy and education.”
As Amber transitions out, Schultz is slowly transitioning in.
“I think that I have some big shoes to fill,” Schultz said.
Schultz’s background is in recreational therapy. She spent the past nine years at ODC and has spent the past 25 plus years working as a recreational therapist.
Schultz said that the community aspect appeals to her in the new position and that the generosity of the community has been a highlight thus far.
“Just the fact that it is so many different areas in the community,” Schultz said. “ODC was wonderful; I absolutely loved my time there, but it had one focus there and this has a much broader spectrum.”
Schultz is a Woodbury, MN, native, who came to Marshfield to attend her first two years of college, when her father opened Rainbow Foods here.
She met her husband, Rob, who works at the Marshfield Public Library, and the couple later returned to make their home in the area.
