Deadline for trash cart size change is Feb. 4
For Hub City Times
MARSHFIELD – Those wishing to make changes to the cart size in the city of Marshfield’s new trash and recycling cart program have until Feb. 4 to make requests.
The city of Marshfield, and Advanced Disposal, will make the conversion for residents who currently receive curbside service from the city.
The new program provides residents with trash and recycling carts made of commercial grade plastic with wheels for easy movement and hinged lids to contain items and minimize animal pilferage and blowing trash.
As part of the curbside service, residents will receive a 96-gallon trash cart and a 96-gallon recycling cart by default. For those that desire a smaller size, 64-gallon and 35-gallon options are also available.
On April 10, Advanced Disposal will begin delivery of the new carts, with the first collection date with the new carts scheduled for April 30.
Trash will be serviced weekly and recycling will be serviced every other week.
The 35-gallon carts hold up to two standard kitchen-size bags, 64-gallon carts hold up to four standard kitchen-size bags, and 96-gallon carts hold up to six standard kitchen-size bags.
Cart samples may be viewed at the Marshfield City Hall and City Garage, Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library, and at Advanced Disposal, through the month of January.
If you would like to request a size other than the 96-gallon cart, return the card that was mailed to your address, postmarked by Feb. 4, or visit marshfieldads.com.
