Marshfield man violates probation, jailed
Police responded at 10:05 a.m. to a report that a 30-year-old Marshfield man was consuming alcohol, which was a violation of his probation, on the 1300 block of N. Hume Ave. Upon officer contact, the man exhibited signs of impairment, and Probation and Parole elected to place a hold on him. After medical clearance, the man was transported to Wood County Jail and released to jail staff.
Reported disorderly conduct under investigation
Police responded at 9:58 p.m. to a report that a woman’s ex-boyfriend entered her residence without permission and created a disturbance. Officers located the man and took him into custody. He gave a statement and was later released.
A request for charges will be filed with the Wood County district attorney’s office for disorderly conduct. Further investigation is needed into other aspects of the woman’s report.

Woman arrested for second OWI
Police arrested a 40-year-old Marshfield woman for operating while under the influence, second offense, on Nov. 8. She was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then released to a responsible party.
Marshfield police assist Wood County Sheriff’s Office
At 7:06 a.m. the Wood County Sheriff’s Office requested Marshfield Police Department assistance locating a 31-year-old Marshfield man with a warrant. The man had fled from a residence in the area of County Highway T and Yellowstone Drive in Hewitt.
Footsteps were observed in some light snow, and K-9 Steffi was utilized to perform a track. Approximately 50 yards into the track, the man was located hiding in some tall grass in a waterway. The man was then arrested without incident.
Police called for elementary school incident
Madison Elementary School staff contacted police at 3:02 p.m. regarding a parent who was getting out of hand. Officers arrived and assisted with the 27-year-old Marshfield woman, who came to the school to see her child.
The child was recently taken away from the woman by Social Services. Police contacted Social Services, which verified that the woman should not be going to the school as it was feared she may take the child.
Police advised the woman to set up supervised visits with her caseworker. The woman then left without incident.
Retail theft reported at Central Avenue store
Police responded at 4:32 p.m. to a report of retail theft at a store on the 2000 block of N. Central Ave. The suspects reportedly filled a backpack with merchandise and left the store, past the last point of sale, without paying for it.
Officers arrived on the scene but were unable to locate the suspects’ vehicle. A loss prevention officer recognized one of the two suspects involved. Loss prevention will complete a report documenting the items taken and provide it to the Marshfield Police Department for follow-up.
