Step back in time: Nov. 5-11 in Hub City history

Ten years ago
Country Kitchen announced it was donating 15 percent of all its meal sales Nov. 7 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. to the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County music department. Diners’ checks had to be accompanied by a flier from the UW-Marshfield/Wood County to donate their share.
Twenty-five years ago
Gordon and Betty Schmoll of Marshfield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Marshfield VFW Clubhouse with a dinner for immediate family members. The Schmolls’ children included LeRoy and James, both of Marshfield, and Marjorie of Hortonville.
Fifty years ago
A small band of Marshfield Athletic Club members began construction on an outdoor rink for a youth hockey program in Marshfield. The Oak Avenue ball diamond was the site of the rink construction.
Seventy-five years ago
Announced by Superintendent of Marshfield Schools Harold H. Helms, 37,741 pounds of scrap materials were collected during the recent school scrap drive. Totaling $182.71, proceeds went to the school welfare fund.
