Clark County Community Foundation opens new office

LOYAL — A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the new office of the Clark County Community Foundation (CCCF) on Dec. 1. The event was hosted by the Clark County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) and the city of Loyal.
On hand for the event were city officials, including Loyal Mayor Dave Williams, and officers and directors of the CCCF. U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin’s representative Kelly Westlund was present to offer the best wishes of the senator.
After welcoming words from the mayor, State Senator Terry Moulton, and CCEDC director Sheila Nyberg, CCCF President Steven Hemersbach spoke on the history and goals of the Foundation.
The CCCF was created to help the citizens of Clark County improve their quality of life by awarding scholarships to eligible applicants and making grants in support of the many charitable needs in surrounding communities. Scholarships are awarded each spring to graduating seniors who live in Clark County.
The third scholarship cycle will begin in January of 2017 with scholarship winners announced in May. Additionally, the CCCF’s first grant cycle closed in November, and successful grant applicants will be notified and presented checks for their award amount within the coming weeks.
“It’s the contributions from generous donors (i.e. individuals, area businesses, estates, memorials, and other financial supporters) that make the programs of the Foundation possible. The CCCF offers several different types of funds or ‘areas of interest’ for people to support and will work with the donor’s attorney or investment advisors to help make sure the donor’s intent and charitable giving goals are met,” wrote CCCF Treasurer Natalie Erpenbach.
Located in the City of Loyal Municipal Building, 301 N. Main St., the CCCF office is open by appointment only. Regularly scheduled office hours will be announced in the near future.
