Mayhone arrested for strangulation, heroin possession, other charges

MARSHFIELD — At 2:55 a.m. on Aug. 29, Marshfield police responded to a reported disturbance in the vicinity of Wildwood Park’s Upper Pond. Upon officers arriving, two subjects were located. It was learned a 26-year-old Marshfield female had been battered, strangled, and threatened with a knife by a 30-year-old Marshfield male, Dustin (Dusty) N. Mayhone.
Mayhone was arrested on numerous charges, brought to the Marshfield Police Department for booking and interviewing, and then transported to Wood County Jail. After interviewing the victim, officers searched the hotel room rented by the male and female and located 25 grams of heroin.
Charges will be requested through the Wood County district attorney’s office against Mayhone for the following:
—Strangulation – domestic abuse, felony.
—Possession with intent to deliver heroin 10-50 grams, as a repeater, felony.
—Second degree recklessly endangering safety, felony.
—Battery – domestic abuse, misdemeanor.
—Disorderly conduct while armed – domestic abuse, misdemeanor.
—Habitual criminality enhancement.
Mayhone is in custody on a probation hold facing revocation from extended release on a 2014 Wood County drug conviction.
Mayhone has prior drug convictions for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver in Eau Claire County (2006); possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, Clark County (2009); and possession with intent to deliver heroin, less than 50 grams, Wood County (2014).
