Community Foundation announces grant recipients

MARSHFIELD — Marshfield and the surrounding area have a reputation for being a caring community that is generous in helping those in need. The Marshfield Area Community Foundation responds to the needs in the community through Community Grants, Senior Grants, and the Women’s Giving Circle. The foundation has given back over $8.1 million in the 23 years it has been helping the community.
This year 20 applicants submitted grant requests, asking for $35,888 in support. The foundation’s board of trustees has voted to fund the following projects with the Community, Senior, and Women’s Giving Circle Grants, committing a total $9,150 in assistance:
—Clark County Home and Family Education: $1,000 for the Bookworm Project.
—Marshfield Lions Club: $100 for a used electric range for the Lion’s Den.
—Spencer Area Historical Society: $750 for printing historical photographs.
—Marshfield Outdoor Learning Sanctuary: $2,000 for a boardwalk trail.
—Hart Equine Therapy Center Inc.: $900 to help purchase a therapeutic saddle.
—Marshfield Cultural Fair: $2,000 for support of the fair.
—House of Mercy: $2,500 towards the purchase of a building to house a shelter for homeless women and children in Loyal.
