A message from our publisher
Dear readers,
During this holiday season, we pause with you to count our many blessings. Simple things make our lives better — the embrace of a loved one, a smile from a friend, a gathering to share stories, and cheer over a good meal. Whatever our personal beliefs, we can all agree that the love of family and friends and the blessings of food, clothing, and shelter are what make our lives happy today.
But not everyone is well situated to enjoy these blessings. For some of us, the holidays are not joyous but instead are a time of quiet longing or pain. Some of us lack the basics, like ample food and secure shelter. Others among us have our material needs met but feel the emptiness of strained relationships with family or too few friends.
If you are fortunate to be enjoying happiness and blessings, reach out to someone you know who might need an extra boost. Try doing something special for someone who seems a bit down. It may make all the difference for them, and no matter what, I can guarantee it will make you feel better. And if life seems tough for you at this time, also reach out! You have more to give than you realize, and the act of giving may help you shake a down feeling.
From all of us at MMC, a message of holiday gratitude and thanks. It is a privilege to serve you and our community.
